This is the moment which always breaks my heart. If I have to pick one pivotal moment upon which everything in the movie changes, it would be this moment.
As we all know, Stana is an amazingly talented actress, and these few moments prove it. A kaleidoscope of emotions plays across her face during these moments - surprise, shock, hurt, plus many others. I’ve only ever seen Stana be able to do this; no one else comes close.
Up to that point in the film, Sofia had been under the impression that yes they were both married, but it was only adults involved in their affair. The sudden knowledge that there was a child involved is a complete game-changer. She’s probably a little hurt that Yves hasn’t said anything about being a father, that he let her believe that he was childless like she was.
I can’t even explain it, this moment is just so powerful and so shattering that I can’t do it justice with words.
